Rawalpindi:

Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has announced that her brother has given the party a detailed plan for a nationwide protest movement to be launched after Muharram 10.

When she talked to the media outside the Adiala prison on Tuesday, she said attorney Salman Akram Raja has been handed over to convey the protest strategy to the party leadership. She added that Imran is deliberately isolated in an attempt to “minus” him from the political equation.

“My two sisters were given permission for a 15-minute meeting, while lawyer Zaheer Abbas was awarded only 90 seconds today. Others like Salman Safdar, Salman Akram Raja and Niazullah Niazi have been denied any access,” she added.

She said IMRAN has warned of growing authoritarianism and suggested that the state is driving against martial arts. “If the votes are stolen and their value is denied if the judiciary is transformed into a government department and the judges are humiliated, the rule of law no longer exists,” she quoted Imran.

The PTI founder has allegedly expressed that the introduction of the 27th constitutional amendment would only formalize a monarchy. “It would be better to officially declare kingdoms,” Aleema quoted him and added that Imran believes the nation is being slaved and that lifelong prison is preferred over this “slavery.”

She also said that Imran praised the resistance shown in the Punjab assembly, especially the role of the opposition leader. “Currently, 26 PTI legislators are under restrictions. It would be better if they set up a parallel assembly outside parliament,” she added as she quoted her brother.

Aleema also claimed that Imran is held in lonely inclusion and does not get his legal or constitutional rights in prison. She ended up calling on the nation to rise against what she called an unfair system after Ashura.

‘Legal options still exist’: Faisal Chaudhry

Meanwhile, lawyer Faisal Chaudhry has expressed optimism over the potential release of the PTI founder, saying that “many legal ways still exist” and that “his release is now within sight.”

When he spoke with the media at the Dahgal checkpoint – where he was denied access to meet Imran in Adiala -Prison – the Chaudhry nation called for not losing hope despite the prevailing atmosphere of despair.

He emphasized the need for a well-defined strategy to secure the PTI leader’s release and added: “We should not panic. Solid legal steps and a coordinated action plan are needed at this time.”

He noted that the list of people who were allowed to meet Imran remains static and several individuals should have the opportunity.

By highlighting his political attitude, Chaudhry said, “I think resistance and reconciliation should go hand in hand. One should never give up the path of dialogue, nor should the possibility of resistance be discarded.” He said his decisions are based on timing and conditions and added, “The man who really cares about the public is behind bars.”
