Rival is against Nisar’s return to PML-n

Rawalpindi:

MNA Qamarul Islam Raja has opposed every step to bringing former Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan back in the PML-N fold and warned of protest to the party leadership.

Raja had defeated Nisar in his homemade, after the latter signed ways of the party after a 34-year-old association. However, Nisar returned to the limelight last week when Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited him after a seven-year hole and held a meeting.

At the meeting, where Nisar’s son, Taimur Ali Khan, was also present, the prime minister asked about Nisar’s health, according to an official statement. They also discussed various political issues as well as sustained domestic issues.

Since his loss in the 2018 parliamentary elections, Nisar had lived a secluded life away from media glare. However, after meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz, rumors were common that he could lead PML-N.

In an interview with a private news channel, Raja said he opposed Nisar’s return and warned that if his party had any dealings with Nisar, he would protest against party leadership. “I want to oppose him [Nisar] And complain to the party, ”he said.

Raja said during the election his family, who was in campaign for him, was constantly threatened, adding that he himself had received messages not to compete against Nisar.
