Lahore:
The Punjab government has canceled ashura holidays at doctors, nursing and paramedic staff who warn all hospitals about special events in connection with the apartment.
Hospitals’ administrations have been asked to improve coordination with rescue, police and district authorities to ensure immediate response in the event of an emergency. The hospitals were also asked to prepare to ensure the availability of space in departments in the event of an emergency.
According to sources in the health department, the hospital’s emergency departments and trauma centers will remain in high alarm, and senior professors will be available for service with the staff. Availability of medication will also be secured during processions on both days.
The sources said that instructions had been issued in this regard to the major district hospitals, including the major health facilities in Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Multan, Gujrat and Narowal.
The provincial Minister of Health visits Mayo Hospital, Services Hospital, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and other health facilities along the route of the main process in Lahore. Monitoring team will inspect the events and services of the hospitals in the districts throughout the province.
The Punjab government has instructed the doctors and nurses to perform their tasks around the clock on Muharram 9 and 10. Ambulance Services and Blood Banks have also been ordered to ensure preparations to perform special tasks on the two days.
The government has put together the surveillance committees to check the events in hospitals, while departmental actions will be taken against the medical officials found absent from duty.
The health authorities have canceled the holidays for senior doctors, medical officers, paramedic and nursing staff as part of the events for compliance with Ashura.
In addition to keeping the operation of their departments, emergencies and outpatient departments, the large hospitals will also create medical camps along the processional routes.
“We have issued a warning to all district headquarters and teaching hospitals, and doctors and other staff will be on duty. The professors will also remain present in hospitals,” spokesman for Punjab Health Department Syed Hamad Raza said.
