Heritage House Razed in the middle of Official Apathi

Hyderabad:

A pre-partition structure in a residential building is quickly stirred to clear land to build a new structure. The situation takes place in the thick inhabited Nahiyan Jo Pirh location in the center of City Taluka from Hyderabad without authorities abandoned to the occurrence.

However, the Department of Antiques and Archeology has fulfilled its responsibilities by resolving a message of the building to stop the demolition with reference to it as an inheritance structure. This message, which was applied on July 4, failed to stop the ongoing condescending activity that has already flattened a large part of the structure.

The once magnificent standing double-story house spread to about 500 square meters. It wore a sense of inheritance preserved and even celebrated in the civilized world. Its symmetry and proportions reflected a sense of balance that was common in historical architectures.

Razret Veranda of the House was once surrounded by curved columns that led to hallways and rooms. Cobalt blue tiles on top of the exterior walls still enchant the people who can now easily see what’s inside the building because its height has been torn down. The casting work with helical round, yet lean columns on top of composite ornaments on both sides of the entrance gate added to the splendor of the building.

The house is located in a densely populated area that is available through narrow streets, where driving a car during the day is the driver’s nightmare. Ideally, the government should have banned the construction of multi-storey structures in such urban Rabbit Warrens. However, apathy is written great.

Meanwhile, the department’s message is called a letter addressed to the regional director SBCA, “This structure is of high architectural value and carries considerable historical and cultural significance”. The letter quoted Sindh Cultural Heritage Property Rules, 2017, to stop the demolition.

“Therefore, it is requested that demolition that is currently on the topic of plot can be stopped immediately,” the letter reads. The official also asked SBCA to suspend whether anyone was allowed to raze the building until the department’s technical committee further reviewed the case.

According to the letter, the house is located on the city’s survey number 2056 in Nahiyan Jo the Pirh area on Khae Road. The letter has been copied to Commissioner Hyderabad Division, Assistant Commissioner City Taluka and the owner of the house. The focal person in Hyderabad Heritage Buildings was instructed to resolve the letter in a conspicuous place over the property.
