- Windows 11 24H2 gets Windows Firewall to throw false positives up
- An event is logged every time a user restarts their device
- Microsoft says the error message can be disregarded
Microsoft has reported a pretty embarrassing problem with Windows Firewall after preview of June 2025 by Windows 11 24h2 and the mistake remains a mystery for now.
In the known editions of Microsoft’s Update on Windows 11 24H2 KB5060829 (OS BUILD 26100,4484) Preview, the company noted that “Security Event Logs could include an error event related to Windows Firewall with advanced security.”
Microsoft declared that users can certainly disregard the error, but details of why it occur are so far thin on the ground.
Windows Firewall has problems with Microsoft Code in recent Windows 11 Build
“The event is displayed as ‘Config Read Failed’ with the message ‘More data is available,’ noted Microsoft.” Although this event is logged in every time the device restarts, it does not indicate a problem with Windows Firewall and can be disregarded. “
Despite the event log, Windows Firewall is expected to function normally without influence on system processes. Nevertheless, false positives in the events log can still be a nuisance, especially for system monitoring.
“This event is related to a feature that is currently under development and not fully implemented,” the company confirmed, but no estimated fixdato has been stated.
“We are working to release a decision and will provide more information when available,” Microsoft added.
Compared to previous problems seen with Windows 11 24h2, the problem is rather benign – at least it does not cause system accidents – but it raises concerns about potential problems or unfinished code that makes it public buildings.
Microsoft also noted that the same building has a problem with Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters under certain conditions-ice when displayed at 96 DPI in chrome-based browsers including its own non-popular browser, Edge. The company claims to work with Google on a solution.
