San Francisco Giants -Catcher Patrick Bailey etched into the huge story of Major League Baseball Tuesday night against Philadelphia Phillies.
Giants had two runners on the base and down 3-1 at the bottom of the ninth round with Phillie’s Reliever Jordan Romano on the shock. Bailey sent the first pitch he saw deep into the right-wing field at Oracle Park. It hit the top of the brick wall and used to the last two Phillie’s outfielders as the ball dribbled to the left field.

Bailey turned on for Jets and third-base coach Matt Williams sent him home. He scored.
San Francisco won the game 4-3.
Bailey became the first catcher since 1926 to hit a home drive inside the park. The last one was Bennie Tate for Washington Nationals. Baseball data analyst Sarah along the said also that Pat Moran did so in 1907 for Chicago Cubs.
“From the ball I just knew I was doing well,” Bailey said. “I saw that it was against triple Alley and I was like, ‘Oh, I have to go. I have to get to the third at least.’ When I saw the rejection, I was like, ‘Okay, just didn’t fall over.’ “
Bailey said jokingly that he wanted the ball to have gone over the fence and couldn’t remember if he had an interior park homer at any baseball level.

“He’s got some big hits this year,” said Giants manager Bob Melvin. “In big situations he has come through. Not as much as he would like. Hopefully it is something that catapulates him. Haven’t seen him run a ball like that in a while.”
Bailey was also the first player in any position of almost nine years to hit a home drive inside the park. Cleveland Guardians -Tyler Naquin did in August 2016.
On top of all the story that was made, there was a more interesting bit that was also chronic.

It was the first time in the MLB story that a leadoff and walk-off inside the park home driving arose the same day, according to Opta Stats.
