BulletVPN has announced its closure and quotes “various factors, including shifts in market demand.” The Estonia-based virtual private network provider had been in operation for over eight years and had several thousand active users.
In a statement on its website, the VPN service thanked its users for their confidence and support over the years. It also said that users with active subscriptions may be entitled to a free six-month subscription to Windscribe Pro as well as reduced long-term subscription plans.
BulletVPN’s closure also affects users who had purchased lifetime subscriptions and question the legitimacy and validity of lifetime plans that are not always the test of time.

A reminder that lifetime subscriptions do not last forever
BulletVPN’s decision to close its operations will undoubtedly come as a disappointment for subscribers, especially those who bought what they thought were lifetime subscriptions.
This is not the first time lifetime subscriptions have been truncated. In April 2025, VPNSecure’s change in ownership subscriptions canceled, which resulted in users losing access to the service.
In 2023, a VPN user at Reddit shared an alleged response from Ivacy VPN’s customer support stating that the company considered “lifetime” as “life cycle for a software that is typically 5 years old.”
