Former UFC fighterfly Randy Couture required a medical air lift to a combustion center on Tuesday.
The emergency transport to a Kansas City Burn Center happened shortly after the MMA legend maintained what TMZ Sports reported as first and second degree combustion, trauma damage and smoke breath after a crash on a racing track.

Couture ramped up to its first National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) racing event at the time of the upsetting accident.

It is unclear what caused the wreck. Couture’s vehicle appeared to suffer major damage from the crash. From Wednesday, Couture will remain in the Burn Center. His injuries are not believed to be life -threatening.

Last month, Couture shared his enthusiasm for the opportunity to go on the field in 2025.
“It’s a completely different animal,” Couture said during a performance at “Bubba The Love Sponge Show.” “Sitting in the stands look easy. They say, ‘Oh he’s just going fast.’ But there is so much more involved.

“This is a new way of tickling the competitive spirit that I have had most of my life; a new place for me to get competitive and mark themselves in racing,” Couture added. “I want to bring all the things I developed like a wrestler and martial arts into this world and see what we can do. I have no idea how it will go, but I’m excited about the possibilities.”
Couture ended his MMA career with a 19-11 record. Couture served titles in UFC’s light heavy weight and heavyweight departments during his prominent career. He retired in 2011.
