The only second time she had played in a Grand Slam semi-final before her victory over Sabalenka was at the French Open 2019 when she lost as a 17-year-old.

The loss for Sabalenka was the third loss she has maintained in the Wimbledon semi -final in her career, where the other two came in 2021 and 2023.

Sabalenka had been unique in gathering back after dropping the first set in larger tournaments as the world # 1 ranked player was 11-2 in larger tournaments as he lost the first set that went into this match.

Before this match, Sabalenka had lost only one set throughout the tournament.

Anisimova now owns a 6-3 record against Sabalenka in his career.
