- Gemini has been viewed on Galaxy Buds 3 Pro with a UI 8
- There has not yet been any official message from Samsung
- Googles promised to bring Gemini to Samsung and Sony earplugs
Google has been replacing the Google Assistant with Gemini for a while now, and that rollout now extends to third -party products.
Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 3 Pro is the first third-party earplugs to get a gemini upgrade, but they won’t be the last: Google has promised to bring Gemini to several Samsung headphones and also to Sony.
The news comes via Android Authority, which notes that the rollout seems to happen very quietly: It simply appears on devices as a standard voice assistant setting on devices running it UI 8.
If you choose this option, the command calls ‘Hey Google’ Gemini rather than the old assistant.
Which earplugs get Google Gemini?
We don’t know the specific models yet, but Google promised back in May that Gemini would come to a number of devices “Plus earplugs from Sony and Samsung”.
This means that it is likely that we see that the update will appear at least the latest models such as Sony WF-1000XM5 as well as their successors, which we believe can arrive within the next few months.
As for Samsung models, we wait for the official message and more details. So far we only know about the Galaxy Bud 3 Pro compatibility via the One UI 8 update, but we do not know if users with a UI 7 will also be supported -or what other Samsung models are also getting the upgrade.
Google’s investment lots of time, energy and money in Gemini: Just yesterday, it announced a lot of new features that came to Android, including a big upgrade to folding phone users, improved Gemini search and the beginning of Gemini integration with native phone apps such as Samsung’s notes, calendar and reminders.
