Islamabad:
A delegation from PPP on Friday met with Jui-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman at her residence in Islamabad to discuss the upcoming Senate Election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The PPP delegation included KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, Khurshid Shah and Zahir Shah. Jui-F leaders-Aakram Khan Durrani, Maulana Lutfur Rehman, Maulana Asad Mehmood, Zahid Durrani and Asjad Mehmood also went to the meeting.
According to a Jui-F spokesman, the meeting focused on consultation regarding the Senate elections in KP. In a speech with the media after the meeting, Khurshid Shah said the Senate election is approaching and previously agreed questions will be honored.
“Each party has its mandate. We have a relationship with Maulana why we came,” he added.
Governor Kundi said their goal is to get five Senate seats from KP.
“Maulana gets a general seat and PPP gets a reserved seat. If even a member exceeds the expected number, a vote that is not trusted,” he added. When a journalist asked if horse trading would take place again, Kundi said PPP is trying to prevent any horse water.
When asked if the parties would contest election as an alliance, just as they had contested the previous election of the Senate under PDM, the KP Governor said that was what they were trying to do. “We are trying to go into the election together,” he added.
When he commented on the security situation in KP, he said after tonight’s extremist regime. He condemned the tragic killing of workers in Balochistan on Thursday and said the whole nation must unite to bring peace.
“India is behind the terrorist acts in Balochistan. After defeating militarily defeat, India intensifies terrorism. Afghanistan’s land must not be used by Israel and India. If our neighbor allows its land to be used by them, how can we have better connections?” He added.
