- A large camera upgrade tipes to the Galaxy S26 Ultra
- It could get a 200MP primarily camera with a larger sensor
- The Galaxy S26 series is expected to be launched in January 2026
With the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 launches out of the way, we can turn attention to the Samsung Galaxy S26 series and what might arrive in January – and an exciting new Galaxy S26 Ultra Camera Leak just appeared.
This is from the well-known Tipster Fixed Focus Digital (via Gsmarena), which shares the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is in line for a top-end 200MP camera lens from Sony (although there is a small likelihood that it can be held until the Galaxy S27 Ultra says delicious).
Read through our Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Review and you will see that the current flagship is also delivered with a 200MP primarily camera – but photo taking is not just about megapixel. Apparently, the new camera will have a larger sensor size, which should make a significant difference to the image quality.
The Ultra model will undoubtedly be the most advanced (and the most expensive) of the Galaxy S26 phones, which Samsung launches next year, probably in January -if it adheres to the same schedule it is used so far in 2025.
Samsung vs Apple, again
We haven’t heard too much in the way of leaks and rumors around the Samsung Galaxy S26 series yet, but there is plenty of time to go. Regulatory filing has suggested that the Galaxy S26 Plus can be dropped next year, so there would just be three phones in total.
Of course, the super-thin Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge was introduced this year, and the thought is that it can effectively take the place of the Galaxy S26 Plus in the arrangement next year to make it easier to choose a phone for consumers.
Apple is joked to do something similar this year too. We believe that the iPhone 17 air (which is also apparently defined by how slim it is, in front of back) will be the fourth phone in the 2025 iPhone series, replacing the iPhone 16 Plus -though nothing is safe before Apple does it officially.
The iPhone 17-Hand Set will show up in September, which puts a marker down for what Apple has to hit in January ice cream when it comes to the high-end iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max Models.
