Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian suffered minor leg damage during an Israeli missile strike last month that targeted a meeting of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Father’s News Agency Reported Saturday according to Anadolu Agency.
The attack took place on June 17, while the supreme Iranian officials, including leaders of the three branches of government, were brought together in a secure underground section in a building in western Tehran.
Father reported that six missiles hit the building’s entrance and starting points and looked like a tactic used in a previous assault attempt at Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
Officials reportedly escaped through a predicted emergency output, reported the agency, noting that Pezeshkian was “wounded during the evacuation but was able to leave safely.”
The report also said Iranian authorities suspect a possible internal leakage with reference to the accuracy of the strike.
Father Criticized Western and Israeli affiliated media for ignoring an “obvious state’s terrorism” while condemning Iranian leaders’ religious decisions against figures such as US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
A 12-day armed conflict between Israel and Iran broke out on June 13 after Israel launched air strikes on Iranian military, nuclear and civilian targets, resulting in at least 606 deaths and 5,332 injuries, according to Iran’s Ministry of Health.
In response, Tehran performed missile and drone attacks on Israel, killed at least 29 people and wounded over 3,400, based on data from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
The matches ended with an American ceasefire that began on June 24.
