- AI -Jobtab is inevitable, but new innovations will limit the effects, says Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang
- Huang has been warned by senators before an upcoming trip to China
- US TECH SHOULD ‘SET THE GLOBAL STANDARD’ HUANG ARGUMENTS
It has long been propaged AI will lead to mass unemployment, with several CEOs and tech managers warning AI, wiping out millions of jobs, and companies like Microsoft that dismissed thousands of workers while bringing new AI productivity tools.
Now Jensen Huang, CEO of Chip Manufacturer and AI company Nvidia, offered his (slightly stale) perspective. In an interview with CnnHuang essentially transfers job protection responsibility to business leaders and claims; “If the world runs out of ideas, productivity gains are translated into job losses.”
“Everyone’s job will be affected. Some jobs will be lost. Many jobs will be created and what I hope is that productivity wins, as we see in all industries, will lift society,” Huang said.
Bipartisan warnings
Huang’s authority at AI is also considerable thanks to Nvidia’s power in the market. The company’s GPUs continue to be one of the most influential technology products in the world and drives largely AI development worldwide – including in China, some American politicians are spooked.
Huang recently received a warning written by Republican Senator Jim Banks and Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren, reports Pakinomist, who advised not to meet with Chinese companies and argue that this could, “legitimizes companies that work closely with the Chinese military or involve discussing utterable gaps in US’s export control.”
A spokesman for Nvidia Saidus technology will ‘set the global standard’ and that ‘America wins’ -with China is one of the largest software markets in the world, adding that AI software’ should run best on the US technology chart that encourages nations around the world to choose America. “
That said, Huang has recently claimed that Chinese military branches will avoid using American technology due to the associated risk; “Of course, it could be limited at any time,” he argued, “they simply can’t trust it.”
He added how Chinese military services that are already developing powerful tools “don’t need nvidia’s chips, determined or US tech stacks to build their military.”
This comes in response to growing concerns that Chinese companies and military agencies will use us tech to improve capacities.
Increasingly harsh restrictions have limited China’s access to Top AI technologies aimed at limiting China’s technological and AI progress -but concerns are still by the threat to US national security if China uses US companies to develop its capabilities.
