The MLB All-Star game was moved from Atlanta to Denver in 2021 in response to voting legislation in the state of Georgia, as then President Joe Biden described as “Jim Crow on steroids.”

At the time, Los Angeles Dodgers said Dave Roberts, who was honored by managing the National League team because his team played in the previous year’s World Series that he would have had to consider falling to control the game if Midsummer Classic had not been moved.

MLB made the change and said that “the best way to demonstrate” league’s values of “”[supporting] voting rights for all Americans and [opposing] Limitations to the ballot “was to move the game. So Roberts was in Dugout that summer but the game was brought back to Atlanta this year even if the laws remain in place.

During a news conference, a reporter Roberts asked about his previous comments made in 2021 to be “merciless with our voices” and why the game is in Atlanta “when this is on the books.”

“I think it’s just relentless to our votes,” Dodgers’ manager said at the time. “This is not just something that is an isolated moment in time we are talking about. It is something that needs to be talked about [on an] Ongoing [basis]And be merciless with it. “

Pat McAfee released the news conference and said he didn’t feel anyone on stage (Roberts, Paul Skenes, Aaron Boone and Tarik Pushal) “should answer it.”

“I would assume that there was a reason or conversation that was had of MLB and the state that all parties thought this would be a wonderful host city for the All-Star game. I think everyone is very happy to be back in the beautiful city of Atlanta, I think.

“I think Pat answered it perfectly and honestly,” Robert Chimede in. “I value the question. I value your thoughts. I feel like I’m excited to be here. I think it’s a fantastic city. I think baseball fans are happy to be here and celebrate these great athletes.

“I’m not a politician. I feel that everyone has their right to vote for thoughts, but right now I really choose to just focus on the players in the game and be happy to be here. For me, to be able to control these guys and to control against these guys, I am honored.”

The election integrity law of 2021 placed new restrictions to vote per year. Post, added requirements to select -id and limited voting drop boxes. Biden criticized the law as “Jim Crow on steroids.”

Monday Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp praised mlb to return Played to Atlanta and create financial opportunities for businesses in the city.

“We are excited that the game was finally here. It should have been here several years ago. They should never have drawn it to begin with, but fortunately the game comes back,” Kemp said in a performance at “Fox & Friends.”
