- Only 2% of companies are very ready for AI
- Fewer than one-third has deployed AI-FIRewalls to date
- Another out of three could do with diversifying their AI models
Although more and more applications are being inspired by AI, the New F5 research says that only 2% of companies are very ready for AI.
More than one in five (21%) falls into the low-readiness category, and while three-quarters (77%) are considered moderately clear, they continue to face security and governments.
This comes as one in four applications uses AI, with many organizations that share their AI-use across several models, including paid models such as GPT-4 and Open Source models such as Llama, Mistral and Gemma.
Businesses do not take advantage of AI, they have access to
Although 71% of the State of AI Application strategy reports Respondents said they are using AI to improve security, F5 highlighted ongoing challenges with security and governance. Fewer than one in three (31%) has implemented AI -Firewalls, and only 24% perform continuous data marking, potentially increasing risks.
Looking ahead, one in two (47%) says they are planning to implement AI -Firewalls in the next year. F5 also recommends that companies diversify AI models across paid and open source opening, scaling AI-use for operations, analyzes and security and implementing AI-specific protection such as firewalls and data management strategies.
Currently, it is estimated that two-thirds (65%) use two or more paid models and at least one open source model, which shows significant space for improvement.
“As AI becomes the core of business strategy, readiness requires more than experimentation – it requires security, scalability and adaptation,” explained F5 CPO and CMO John Maddison.
The report highlights how companies lacking maturity can stifle growth, introduce operational bottlenecks and present observations.
“AI is already transforming security operations, but without mature management and custom -built protection, companies risk reinforcing threats,” added Maddison.
