- Nintendo asks Japanese players for their thoughts on the Nintendo Switch 2 Game Klaose Card
- It follows reports of low sales to third party Nintendo Switch 2 Software
- It is hopefully signaling a shift toward more traditional physical releases
Nintendo asks Japanese players for their thoughts on the controversial Nintendo Switch 2-game key card.
As the first stained by Switchsoku and reported by VGC, studies have gone out to Nintendo Switch 2 players in Japan.
The form with multiple choices asks if you are aware of the existence of gaming throwing cards or currently owning someone. Next, it shows a number of the properties of gaming throw cards and asks you to choose the ones you already know.
Finally, it asks if you would choose the digital download version of a piece of software if there was a game key card available.
If you are not aware of, game throwing cards are a special type of Nintendo Switch 2 release. These are physical game cards that do not contain significant data. When inserted into a Nintendo Switch 2 system, they ask for a download of the game a lot like an ESHOP purchase.
You need to insert that game-key card every time you want access to the title. The game takes up space on your system’s internal storage and negates one of the great advantages of traditional game cards.
The only real advantage of a game key card is that it can be resold or swapped between several consoles freely, although in my eyes this is not really trouble.
The vast majority of Nintendo Switch 2 Third Party Release has been a game-key card, much for the disappointment of some players.
As the sales of third -party software have reportedly been lower than expected, I suppose this study signales that Nintendo is reassessing its approach and will hopefully start pushing developers against traditional physical releases.
