Islamabad:
Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) has caused an alarm over what it described as “inhuman” treatment of its imprisoned founder, Imran Khan, and claims he will be held in a “death cell” under almost total isolation.
By treating a press conference on Thursday, PTI Central Secretary claimed for Information Sheikh Waqas Akram that Khan is limited to lonely detention for 22 hours daily, refused access to newspapers, television, books and is excluded from meeting his legal team and close associates.
Akram stated that the conditions constitute psychological torture and an obvious violation of basic human rights. “Imran Khan is effectively cut off from the world. His basic right to meet six designated individuals is denied despite explicit judicial decisions that constitute contempt in court,” he said.
He added that similar restrictions have been imposed on Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, who is allegedly denied family visits, while Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, has also been prevented from seeing him.

Akram called on the judiciary to restore his “dwindling credibility and independence” in the light of what he called the executive court, calling for his “dwindling credibility and independence” in the light of what he called the executive craving against legal decisions. “The violation of legal orders is not only an insult to the courts, but to the entire justice system,” he noted.
The PTI spokesman also questioned the recent disqualification of politician Jamshed Dasti, in which he claimed that Article 62 (2). Paragraph 1 (d) has never been used before to seat public representatives, and claims that constitutional provisions have now been incorrectly used for political technology.
He highlighted concerns about the health and treatment of other detained PTI leaders and pointed to the “worsening state” of Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the “systematic violation” of Dr. Yasmin Rashid’s rights and the continued prison of Ejaz Chaudhry because the highest courts give him bail.
In economic affairs, Akram criticized the federal government over skyrocketing fuel prices and claimed that gasoline prices have risen by 82% over the past 15 months. “In PTI’s period, gasoline prices rose with RS51, but the current government scrapped subsidies and pushed the price to RS220 per liter,” he said.

He also accused the government of having orchestrated an RS92 billion sugar scandal, claiming that after the approval to export 765,000 tonnes of sugar disappeared from the market, causing prices to rise to RS200 per year. Kg.
ADRAM claimed that the prosecution’s attitude had collapsed after the withdrawal of an important investigative officer and the absence of the primary witness Hassan Afzal. He demanded immediate dismissal of all related cases.
Akram expressed grief over the recent floods in Punjab, which led to 103 deaths and the destruction of 250 homes, criticizing what he described as the government’s excellent disaster action. “When the public protests, they are imprisoned. Nevertheless, officials who are responsible for this negligence become unpunished,” he noted.
Finally, Akram revealed that Khan has conveyed directives about the upcoming election of the Senate in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, which delegates authority to award Senate’s tickets to the provincial parliamentary party to prevent horse-drawn carriage.
However, he clarified that no ticket can be issued without Khan’s personal approval. “PTI remains obliged to internal democracy and transparency,” he confirmed.
