Earlier this month, Milwaukee Bucks Star Guard Damian Lillard waived.

On Thursday, ESPN reported the nine-time all-star and the Portland Trail Blazers concluded a three-year contract to reunite Lillard with the only other NBA franchise he had played for.

Lillard was drafted by Trail Blazers and spent his first 11 seasons with Portland.

He has the record for most points in the franchise history. On Friday, Lillard went to social media to express his enthusiasm for the reunion.

“RIPCITYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY !!!!!!!!!,” Lillard wrote in a post of X containing a video that panned the creators of multiple trail blazers players including Lillards # 0.

The video ended with a short message: “Together again.”

Lillard is likely to be sidelined throughout the 2025-26 season as he continues to recover from Achilles-Rive, which he was maintained in NBA playoffs at the end of April.

Bucks still owe Lillard $ 113 million, and payments are expected to be stretched over the next five years, according to the report. The 35-year-old salary for the 2025-26 season will climb to $ 70 million due to his earnings from Portland and Milwaukee offers.

Blazers fought without Lillard and finished last season with a 36-46 record and fell during the playoffs.

ESPN also reported that Lillard drew interest from several “NBA challengers”, but he chose the team with which he had the most familiarity.
