Linkin Park just revealed that the song Another light Live is “Too sad to play” and does not perform it again.
The title track on the band’s album is the last work they did with the late legendary vocalist of the group, Chester Bennington, who committed suicide in 2017.
Mike Shinoda, group co -founder, explained The Guardian Newspaper: “[It was originally written] For a woman on the label that we worked with who died. Then after Chester had passed, the world decided it was about him. And then it’s just too sad to play. “
After Chester died, Mike took himself away from Linkin Park to cope with the grief of losing his friend and wrote the solo album, Post traumatic.
He explained that he “would make Post traumatic As a diary of how I felt myself ”, [but also had the urge to play live] “Giving an area to fans to communicate and go, ‘Oh, Mike is still here. We didn’t lose everyone.'”
While Mike found the trip helpful, “at first,” he couldn’t wait to end it when it began to get “exhausting.”
He said, “And then towards the end it was exhausting. I had begun to … I wouldn’t say go ahead.”
“‘Go ahead’ to some people mean not to look back and forget – it’s not quite how I felt it. I felt I was doing well and I was able to get up in the morning and not think about it, and I evolved from the awful things that had happened,” Numb Rocker confessed.
“Then I went to the show and spent 90 minutes with half the crowd crying. And I’m like, this is f ****** exhausting. You know how therapists see patients all day and help them, but then they need therapy myself? That’s how I felt,” concluded a member of Linkin Park, Mike Shinoda.
