Thomas Markle, the alienated father of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, celebrated his 81 -year birthday on Friday, reportedly without any contact from his daughter or access to his grandchildren.
According to Express UKThe day was “full of mixed feelings” for the retired director of Hollywood Lighting, which has made repeated public pleas to connect again with Meghan. Despite his efforts, the two alienated, and he has not yet met Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, Meghan’s children with Prince Harry.
While neither Meghan nor her followers recognized the apartment in public, some royal fans, especially supporters of Prince William and Kate Middleton, took to social media to share birthday tribute to Thomas. Many praised him for speaking against Meghan earlier and highlighted ongoing departments among royal viewers.
The collapse of the relationship between father-daughter goes back to 2018 when Thomas staged staged paparazzi photos in front of Meghan’s royal wedding. The images that included him who read about British culture and were mounted for a suit triggered controversy and reportedly caused the embarrassment of the royal family.
Just days before Thomas’ birthday, Meghan published a cryptic message on Instagram, additional fuel for speculation, but offers no direct comment to his father.
