Two young boys were killed after a quick water tanker crushed their motorcycle near the Agha Khan signal on defense Korangi Road on Sunday, officials said.
The boys, 12 and 15 years and brothers after relationship, died on site. Their bodies were moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center.
The incident triggered public indignation when the tanker, which carries the registration number TTC 237, fired up after angry local set it on fire. The driver fled from the stage.
According to the police and eyewitness accounts, the tanker lost water lost control as he drove along Korangi Road.

Police arrived shortly after and took a man in custody to set the tanker on fire. The fire brigade was called to extinguish the fire, but the front of the tanker was completely destroyed.
Defense Police Stations Sho, Bilal Ahmed, identified the victims as 12 -year -old Tauseef Shah and his 15 -year -old brother, Ayan Shah, both residents of Korangi Ghari. The boy’s father, who owns a meat shop in a market along Korangi Road, told police that his sons had left home to visit the sea view.
Sho noted that the speed of thought and the possible inattention of the boys contributed to the collision. CCTV recordings are picked up to reconstruct the events. Efforts to find the fleeing driver are underway and contact with the tanker owner, Muhammad Ali.
A suspect was arrested for setting the tanker on fire and further litigation is underway. The damaged tanker was removed by a crane truck to clear Korangi Road and restore traffic flow.
