The royal family has received a brutal warning against Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after the Duke of Sussex’s peace talks with King Charles.
In one piece to GB NewsRoyal commentator Lee Cohen expressed reluctance to reports of a “peace meeting” between the monarch and the Duke of Sussex.
Calling the idea “alarming” warned Cohen that forgiving Sussexes for their past actions and public criticism could hurt the monarchy’s many years of respect.
He further added that Harry and Meghan chose fame and wealth of loyalty and that the palace should not appear weak by trying to create peace without accountability.
The expert claimed that if Charles escapes Harry’s “litany of shameful actions and shameful attacks,” it could potentially risk “the respect itself that has maintained it for centuries.”
“This is not a diplomatic crisis between nations; it is a family schism that is rooted in ungratefulness and the hubris.
Cohen said that the California -based Royals chose “exile, fame and wealth of loyalty” and called on the palace not to “chase after them, cap in hand, beg for reconciliation.”
So now, doing something to do with them could show that the monarchy can be “abused to submission of petulants”, which in turn could “alienate” supporters.
“Sussexes’ defenders will argue that reconciliation is the Christian thing to do that families should heal. But forgiveness without accountability is not healing; it is surrender,” he continued.
“The monarchy is not a private family; it is a public institution and its actions carry symbolic weight. The palace must keep the line, not in spite of survival.
“It must show that disloyalty has consequences that the institution is greater than any person, even a prince.
“The alternative is bleak. A monarchy that bends to Sussexes’ requires risks of losing respect for its most eager supporters. The crown has weathered worse storms than this, and it must not falter now.”
