While Trey Hendrickson has not yet been paid, the first round remains as Shemar Stewart remains a teamout due to a rookie contract.
The reason behind Stewarts Holdout is about the language within his agreement, but Cincinnati Bengal’s performing Duke Tobin made quite aware of how he feels on his way into the start of training camp.
“I think Shemar should be here,” Tobin told journalists. “I don’t want to blame Shemar. He listens to the advice he pays for. I understand or believe or believe in the advice, but I don’t pay for it. If I felt we were treating him unfairly as it doesn’t know all the other draft elections in this year’s draft, it might be another story. But we’re not. I don’t really understand where things are.”

Stewart, the 17th total election back in April, left the last day of mandatory mini stamp, where he did not attend on-site training, because his rookie contract was not signed.
The Texas A&M product said he did not want to be a distraction for his teammates while his contract starred.

“I am 100% right,” he told journalists at MiniCamp about his contract. “I do not ask for nothing that you (Bengals) have never done before. But in that case, you just want to win arguments (more) than win more games.”
The Bengals are reportedly trying to change the way their first round-rookie contracts are executed, which would allow the team to cancel future guarantees. Stewart does not feel that his contract language should be different, with Pro Football Talk, pointing out Amarius Mims, the team’s first round of election last year and does not have that language in his agreement.
Stewart was also a higher choice than Mims.

Bengal’s main coach Zac Taylor said he had “good communication” with Stewart before leaving the camp.
Bengals -owner Mike Brown also commented on the situation and called Stewart’s situation “a very peculiar thing.”
“It’s not about money. It’s about the warranty in case if he had to do something in contrast to the league’s discipline levels,” Brown told journalists. “I don’t think it will happen ever. That’s what keeps it up. It has never happened as long as I can remember.
“His agent wants it to be if he acted in a terrible way – all this is hypothetical – something that rises to the level of going to jail, we would be on the line of the warranty.

“If we get a player doing something unacceptable, guess what? I won’t pay him.”
