Mike Vabel may not be Bill Belichick, but the veteran head coach who is now leading New England Patriots channeled him on Tuesday after not suffering a reporter’s question.
Why exactly? He had just answered it from another reporter.
The reporter in question was the Boston Globe Ben Volin, who asked Vabel how he felt about how his team got into the Patriots camp on the first day.

Vrabel, obviously crossed, answered pretty quickly.
“Whether you were in a coma when I answered Tom’s questions or wrote on your phone or tweeted, I don’t know. But I spent five minutes answering that question. I can go back through it, but I’d rather not,” Vrabel said.

Some may see Vrabel’s answer as someone he didn’t have to give volin, but the reporter owned not to pay attention to the previous response from the new head coach after posting X.
“Flag on the play. 5 yard punishment. Total lack of focus,” Voline replied after the video of him and Vrabel’s exchange became viral.
Patriots journalists are used to non-nonsens, huge answers to the lecturer considering Belichick’s year of monotonous response to questions.
Vrabel may be more animated, but he was once a player under Belichick and his own coaching style has similarities. He expects everyone to perform their jobs properly and efficiently – even journalists in the press room.

The Patriots let Jerod Mayo, a former New England teammate of Vabel’s, go for only one season when their head coach in 2024. New England went 4-13 under Mayo, which was the worst brand in AFC East last year.
Vrabel was considered a Frontrunner for the Patriots job was out of season as Belichick and the team mutually divorced ways, but he eventually never found a new head coach concert after being released by Tennessee Titans after six seasons as their head coach.
After a long hiatus, Vrabel is back in the saddle with a New England team that wants to get back in the playoffs for the first time since 2021.

With new blood, including the wide receiver Stefle Diggs, in the building, which will go with the cornerstone’s pieces such as Quarterback Drake Maye, the stories in Foxborough are expected to be abundant this season.
Vrabel clearly hopes these stories do not involve repeated questions.
