Ozzy Osbourne, the groundbreaking frontman for Black Sabbath and Heavy Metal’s “Prince of Darkness”, died on July 22, 2025, 76 years.
His family confirmed that his passing came after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease and related health complications
Diagnosed in 2020, Osbourne claimed with gradual worsening of symptoms, including shaking, decreased mobility and a decrease in overall health.
In recent years, he suffered a serious spinal cord injury from a quad bike accident, which demanded more operations and further limited his ability to perform.
Despite his illness, Osbourne staged a last farewell concert, “Back to the beginning”, July 5 in Birmingham, England.
Sitting throughout the show due to limited walking ability, he delivered a four -song set in the presence of original black sabbath members
The efforts to continue to touring were stopped after he lost the ability to walk and endured continuous physical pain
Details of his immediate cause of death were not given. However, medical experts note that Parkinson’s, especially when advanced, can contribute to deadly complications such as pneumonia, falls and other systemic problems
Surrounded by family, Osbourne died 17 days after his final performance and completed a legendary career defined by raw musical innovation and unshakable resilience.
