DHAKA: The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) wrapped its Annual General Meeting (AGM) Thursday in Dhaka, with all 25 member states present.

ACC President Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for his extraordinary hospitality throughout the two-day collection.

“I would like to thank BCB for their warm hospitality and all member states for their active participation,” Naqvi said at a press conference after the meeting.

Naqvi, who is also chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), emphasized the collective decision of the Member States to drive Asian cricket forward.

“We have decided to work together on improving cricket,” he confirmed.

Naqvi described the general meeting as both “fruitful and memorable”, which indicated productive results and a positive spirit of cooperation among the participating nations.

“These two days were really memorable. No one wants politics involved – the meeting was held in a very positive environment.”

As far as the Asia Cup 2025 is concerned, Naqvi assured that a final decision will soon be made, adding that discussions with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are in progress.

“A decision on the Asia Cup will be announced shortly,” he said. “Lecture with the Indian cricket board is underway and we are optimistic, everything will be resolved with time.”

In response to concern about the absence of certain individuals, Naqvi clarified that although not everyone could participate in person, each membership card was represented.

“Some people couldn’t reach it to Dhaka – it happens. I even missed a meeting in Singapore once. Sometimes it is due to the planning of conflicts, but the important thing is that all membership boards were represented.”

NAQVI emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation and highlighted the collective responsibility for working for the growth of cricket in the region.

“This is a team effort and we will continue to hold such meetings in the future,” he added.

He also confirmed that discussions with the Bangladesh board on more questions are underway.

“Please wait for the official message,” he concluded.
