President Donald Trump signed an executive order to establish new restrictions on payments to college athletes on Thursday.
The order prohibits athletes from receiving payment-to-play payments from third-party sources.
However, the order does not impose any restrictions on Nil payments to college athletes from third-party sources.

Colleges and universities are now allowed to pay their athletes directly after House v. NCAA settlement last month. With universities offering the services of the country’s top football and men’s basketball players, the concerns of what resources would be available to women’s sports and non-income men’s sports.

Trump’s executive order requires schools to sign up to maintain resources for non-income sports.
“The order determines that any income that is allowed between universities and collegial athletes must be implemented in a way that protects women’s and non-income sports,” the order states. “The order requires conservation and, where possible, expanding opportunities for scholarships and college athletic competition in women’s and non-income sports.”

No clear guidelines on how these sports would be explained were given in the initial message.
In addition, the order also allocates the US legal lawyer, the Secretary of the Secretary, the assistant of the president of domestic politics and director of the White House Office of Public Liaison to perform other tasks that protect the rights of students athletes.
