Bill Self, the long -time head coach of Kansas -men’s basketball team, was admitted to the hospital on Thursday after he experienced “some about symptoms.”
A university spokesman confirmed that the 62-year-old coach had two stents deployed during a heart procedure.
Even remain “in a good mood” and is expected to be discharged from the hospital in the near future.

“The procedure went very well and he is expected to make a full recovery,” the school said in a statement. “He is in a good mood and expects soon to be released from the hospital.”

This is not the first time even admitted to a hospital after a health scare. In 2023, he missed the BIG 12 and NCAA Division in the Basketball Tournaments after he experienced chest density. Self also strived with balance problems at the time.

The two-time national championship-winning coach underwent a heart catheterization and received a few stents to treat the blocked arteries.

Even Patrol has been patroling Kansas Side line since 2003. In addition to the two national titles, coached self coach Jayhawks for 14 consecutive championships in big seasons from 2004-2018.
In 2017, himself was introduced in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
