- This week’s entrance is based on the surprisingly lined last scene of his ancestor
- Some of the Apple TV —Original’s Role herd has teased the next one for this unlikely dynamics
Two members of Foundation Season 3’s role crew has lifted the lid of their characters’ unexpected alliance in the Apple Sci-Fi series.
This season’s third episode, entitled ‘When a Book Finds You’, is based on the Cliff Bar, ending by its ancestors ‘Shadows in Mathematics’. In fact, fans of Apple TV+ Show were surprised at what they saw in season 3 episode 2’s last scene, but according to two of its stars, there could be even more shocking events that come as part of the budding ‘frenemic’ bond between their characters.
Full spoilers immediately follow for Foundation Season 3 Episodes 2 and 3. Turn back now if you haven’t seen them.
The last shot of ‘Shadows in the Math’ reveals that this season’s brother Dawn (Cassian Bilton), ie. One of Empire’s three rulers has secretly talked to none other than Gaal Dornick (Lou Llobell). As we learn, the couple has had several hidden holographic calls as these former enemies try to find a way to work together to fight the growing threat that makes up the mule.
Dawn and Gaal have also been in Cahoots for a while. In fact, the opening scene for ‘When A Book You’ shows that Dawn is visiting the Empire’s library to seek Hari Seldon’s original texts about psycho history. He has become more curious about Seldon’s scientific studies ever since he first learned about them through the primary radiation, ie. The object that contains Seldon’s various predictions of humanity.
Long Story Short: Dawn’s interest in psycho history eventually leads to a meeting with Gaal at a restaurant that takes place three years before season 3’s first episode, on Empire’s Stronghold Planet of Trantor. This is where two of Foundation‘s primary grades have so far agreed to keep in touch and cooperate on a plan to tackle the mule because he poses a major threat to empire and foundation. And although Gaal has been “ready to take on” this all -inclusive search since last season, she needs all the help she can get, including from Empire. After all, my enemy enemy is my friend, right?

This does not mean that there will be no moments of excitement and distrust between Dawn and Gaal. The foundation and empire have been enemies for centuries at this time, and according to Llobell and Bilton, it is not a prior conclusion that they continue to move on in one of the best Apple TV+ Shows’ third season.
“You see them [Empire and The Foundation] Trying to get together to take on the mule, “Llobell told me.” But there is still excitement. They are not sure they can trust each other – in the end I don’t think they can.
“But it is still incredibly satisfying to see these characters together again in the same scene [NB: Dawn and Gaal last appeared on the screen together in the season 1 premiere]”Continued Llobell.” They come to a point where their goal is in line and I am really excited about fans to see where things are going from here. “

“In the past, it’s been empire against the foundation, but this season is more interpersonal,” Bilton said.
“What is interesting about Dawn and Gaal’s relationship is that there are two things going on. They are both ambassadors for their way of perceiving the future, so you have these ideals of how the galaxy should constantly shape heads, so their first personal meeting becomes this cat-and-mouse game when they set up the second party.
“At the same time, you have two young people trying to make an impact,” Bilton added. “What does it mean to be someone with the limelight that is trained on them when everything starts to fall apart? And how can they ensure that a legacy that will last and give the story back to look back on them? Then while it is a game of poker and the relationship between them is a cage, a kind of friendship blooms because they have to trust each other.”
Do you think Dawn and Gaal’s ‘frenemy’ dynamics will be strong, or is it doomed to fail? Tell me that in the comments.
