- DJI’s first 360 camera will be revealed on July 31 at 1 p.m. 8 EDT (13:00 UK, 22:00 AEST)
- Teaser shows a square imaging sensor which is an optimized 1-inch type
- YouTuber Posts accidentally an in -depth review that has since been removed
DJI is set to enter another Action Camera Frontier with its first 360 camera, Osmo 360.
After a series of leaks that recently revealed the OSMO 360’s packaging with a number of specifications that include 8K video and 120MP set pictures, plus Australia Pricing, we now officially have words about when to expect Osmo 360 -The launch is set to July 31 at. 8.00 EDT (13:00 UK, 7 p.m.
It is set to take on the Insta360 X5 as one of the best 360 cameras. For example, the previously leaked packaging describes a larger sensor for “1-inch 360 imaging … When catching 360 content, OSMO 360’s CMOS sensor has an imaging area similar to that of a 1-inch CMOS sensor.”
Exactly what the above meant was something of a mystery until the teaser fell as it reveals that the sensor is a square aspect, presumably optimized for 360-degree image recording (see teaser below).

We could Pore over previous leaks once again to build a picture of Osmo 360 in front of next week’s launch; However, we do not need. A YouTuber accidentally sent a 15 minute review that includes comparisons with the Insta360 X5.
The video has since been removed, but not before the Eagle-Eyed DJI tipsters have caught and shared the one you can see below.
DJI and Insta360 set to another round in the ring
DJI seems to be hell at conquering the market for action camera and offering fierce competition to GoPro. Meanwhile, Insta360 has long surpassed GoPro – Action Camera and – as the 360 camera market leader.
And even with GoPro Max 2 officially on the way, it seems that Insta360 now has a stubborn competition elsewhere from DJI.
The leaked 15-minute video has been removed, but not until he is discovered and shared by @gelon1983 on x (formerly Twitter) and then Seriel Dji leaks @quadronews.
YouTuber finally realized it was public. Here is the original quality video.https: //t.co/ppckwh3ckzJuly 24, 2025
In the video we can see that Osmo 360 has a GoPro Max-like design that is a small square than the stick-like design of the X5, while it weighs only 6.5 OZ / 184G-CA. 10% lighter than insta360 x5.
It looks like there will be a bundle that includes additional batteries and a three-battery charging case, while USB-C apparently supports fast 30W charging.
The optimized square sensor can record 8K video with 10-bit color depth and DJI’s flat D-Log color profile, while the X5 is limited to 8-bit color depth. The combination of larger sensor and larger color depth should result in a more natural looking image.
There are several side by page test videos recorded with Osmo 360 and X5 in the video, demonstrating the difference in image quality.
We also get a throughput of some of the OSMO 360’s features, including 128 GB of internal stock, a single lens mode, plus DJI’s new 360 editing suite.
One area where the X5 has the upper hand, especially for Gung-Ho users, is that its lenses can be fully replaced in the event of damage, while the Osmo 360s, like any other 360-camera, is fixed.
For more details, feel free to check out the leaked video. We can now expect a flood of Osmo 360 content on July 31, at which time the 360 -camera market is really becoming interesting.
