This is not the first time Mixon has fought for ankle problems. He was sidelined in three matches in 2024 after worsening his ankle. Mixon also sat two matches in 2022 with a concussion.
He treated a few apparent ankle sprains in 2021, though he still managed to perform in 16 games that season. A foot injury in week 6 of 2020 brought Mixon’s season to an early end.

The 29-year-old comes out of a strong season that rushes at 1,016 yards in 2024. Mixon also ran for 11 touchdowns and had a receiving score last year.
The Texans added to the running back room this season by signing all-pro Nick Chubb. Houston’s Front Office also used a selection of fourth rounds on Woody Marks.
The Texans open their Forsy season August 9 against the Minnesota Vikings.
