Rayan Gosling debuted different clips from the upcoming sci-fi movie Project Hail Mary at San Diego Comic-Con.
In the movie Stars Gosling like Ryland Grace, a high school teacher who wakes up aboard a spaceship without memory, only to find that he is on a mission to save humanity.
The first few minutes of the film showed Gosling’s character who woke up in a spacecraft, interacting with robots.
Then he eventually begins to shout, “Where am I?” while staring out into space.
The scene drew laughter from the crowd as Gosling joked about his “Placenta OneSie” anti -clothing.
When he flashed a laugh, he added, “I hope to see participants in comic-con wearing this next year.”
Another scene contained Gosling and co -star Sandra Hüller, whose character encourages him to experiment on a foreign cell.
When Grace nervously asks, “Am I usable? Is that why you want me?” Hüller answers dryly, “that’s not the only reason,” gets more audience’s laughter.
The film also leans into drama, especially when Gosling’s character is struggling with zero-paving power and a growing realization of his mission. “I connected to his reluctance,” Gosling shared. “He’s a very ordinary person.”
According to Hollywood Reporter, Directors Lord and Miller, known for their comic chops, emphasized that the film balances humor and heart.
“Things are more fun if it comes from real feelings,” Miller said, while screenwriter Goddard added, “Our lives are dramatic and comic every single day.”
Author Andy Weir praised Gosling’s performance and said, “Seeing Ryan give so many layers to this character I made, I was like“ Wow, this character is really cool. “
Lord summarized the film’s deeper message with a laugh: “It answers the question, ‘If the universe depends on it, can adult men make friends?’ ‘
Project Hail MaryAlso starring in Milana Vayntrub, is directed by Lord and Miller and adapts Weir’s recognized novel with the same name. It opens in theaters on March 20, 2026.
