Britain’s new online security law has left online users in rebellion, with age verification required to access channels on platforms such as Discord or Reddit containing 18+ (NSFW) content. But as the Internet often does, many have found a solution to bypass this requirement.
As reported by our friends at PC Gamer, Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding And its photo mode allows users to bypass new UK AGE verification checks. The measure requires users to catch their faces or personal ID to determine their age but using Death StrandingSam Porter Bridges -character appears to be enough for verification.
Since Death Stranding’s photo mode has multiple emotes for SAM, players can easily use their phone’s front camera and use specific emots that will open and close your mouth, according to face scanner’s instructions (as you want to see below).
After trying to scan my face to access my own Discord server and others secure for work (SFW) servers with age -limited channels, it shows either instructions every few seconds (before you can even follow them) or wrong determine you are a young teenager, which was my result.
An easier solution to using an image may come to mind, such as scanning in an already existing image, but as I have mentioned, this system requires that you make certain face movements, which is something a still image cannot do.
The new requirement is considered a positive measure that may prevent minor users from accessing harmful content (and rightly). However, the accidental affects those who are in age, especially those who are not comfortable sharing their personal ID, despite the hint that images are not stored after verification is completed.
We’ve already seen a huge leakage of the tea -Dating app, leaving personal IDs and images of users widely available online, so there’s no guarantee that it’s safe to use personal IDs for other social apps.

First of all, I do not go in for or recommend the use of this Death Stranding bypass in any way, especially If you are minor. Since there are obviously problems with the facial scanner, including a lack of alternatives to access Discord servers (besides using a personal ID), this is the only solution for many.
I have tried to use the facial scanner for no benefit, and according to Discord I am a young teenager, which is clearly not the case. Fortunately, Reddit’s age verification surface scanner worked easily for me without any problems, so maybe it is an isolated problem with Discord’s facial scanner.
The last thing I would do is use my personal ID for verification for a social app as a discord and that explains why players go in the lengths of using tools like Death Stranding‘s photo mode.
It is worth noting that there is already a petition to cancel the new online security law, so it is left to see what is coming from all this.
For the time being, I am patiently waiting for another solution – and fortunately I am not in a hurry to regain access to a small selection of discord servers.
