Auburn Tiger’s men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl criticized President Barack Obama over the statement he made about the hunger situation in Gaza.
Obama suggested that aid flow to Palestinians, regardless of whether Israel can secure a hostage.
Pearl, president of the US Israel Education Association, criticized the former president on Monday for not demanding that Hamas return the hostages it has held since October 7, 2023 terrorist attacks.

“You gave billions to Iran and Hamas that created this mess and not a word from you that encourages them to release the hostages, surrender and end the war! Tell Hamas to 1) Stop stealing and resell Aid 2) Stop attacking GHF workers feeding Gazan. 3) Leave and end suffering,” Pearl wrote on X.
Obama gave the statement on social media on Sunday with reference to the New York Times report that “the Gazans die of hunger.” Israel, which blocked Help to Gaza earlier this year, has recently begun air -droping aid resources into the region, and its leaders claim reports of hunger are a false campaign promoted by Hamas.
However, reporting from Pakinomist’ Trey Yingst has indicated that hunger is actually spreading across the region.
“While a lasting decision on the crisis in Gaza must involve a return on all hostages and a cessation of Israeli’s military operations, these articles emphasize the immediate need for action to be taken to prevent the travesty of innocent people from dying of prevention,” Obama wrote at X, giving a link to the times.

“Help should be allowed to reach out to people in Gaza. There is no reason for keeping food and water away from civilian families,” he added.
President Donald Trump proclaimed us efforts to support Gaza when asked about the situation on Sunday. While meeting with the President of Europe, President Ursula von der Leyen at the time, he said Europe has not provided help with Gaza. He also said that Hamas steals much of the help sent to Palestinians, a claim Israel has made repeatedly.
“When I see the kids, and when I look, especially over the past few weeks, people steal the food, they steal the money, they steal the money for the food. They steal weapons, they steal everything,” Trump told journalists.
“It’s a mess, the whole place is a mess. The gaza strip, you know it was given many years ago so they could have peace. It didn’t work too well,” he added.
Pearl, Jewish, has been more obvious to Hamas terrorists and the ongoing conflict in the Middle East since the terrorist attacks.
He explained to “Being Jewish Podcast” in June about why he is speaking out.
“Here’s the deal. One of the reasons I do, it’s really simple. What is your course in the Middle East that teaches you in high school? Oh, don’t you have one? Oh, so let’s go on social media and let’s read lies and propaganda,” explained Pearl.

“On the back of their minds it is, ‘maybe they’re right. Maybe stole the Jews land. Maybe they ran them out of their homes. I don’t know.’ It’s because you’ve never been taught. [which is] A very, very high minority. “
