The German Consulate Stop Visa Services in Karachi for non-EU citizens

The German Consul General in Karachi has announced the immediate suspension of Visa Services for Non-European Union (EU) citizens so far.

In an official statement issued on X, the consulate confirmed that the suspension applies to all non-EU applicants, including those with already confirmed visa agreements. The consulate clarified that these agreements have been canceled and will not be re -planned.

Affected applicants have been asked to re -register for agreements when the consulate resumes its services. Updates about the situation will be issued when and when available, the consulate said, expressing the appreciation of public understanding during the disturbance.

Earlier this month, Sweden announced the resumption of Visa Services in Islamabad following the bilateral political consultations (BPC) between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Pakistan and Sweden, held in Stockholm on July 2.

With effect from July 7, Pakistani citizens can apply for a Schengen visa within Pakistan for visits to Sweden up to 90 days.

The Pakistani delegation for the bilateral consultations in Stockholm was led by the extra foreign secretary (Europe), while the Swedish side was led by the Director -General of Global Affairs of the Swedish Foreign Ministry.
