- PlayStations Project Defiant Fight Stick is officially called Flexstrike
- The combine packs mechanical Switch buttons, PS -Linksupport and instantly swapped pindports
- It should be launched sometime in 2026
The PlayStation Project Defiant Fight Stick finally has an official name along with brand new details and a vague release window.
A new PlayStation blog post has revealed that Project Defiant is officially called Flexstrike, and it is currently set to arrive sometime in 2026. The news comes just before Sony’s own Evo 2025 Fighting Game Tournament event in Las Vegas, where Flexstrike appears (but not playable) for the first time.
Flexstrike will be compatible with both PS5 and PC, and it supports Sony’s proprietary PlayStation Link Wireless Tech. Here, a PlayStation -Link USB adapter can be used to connect a compatible game headset – like Pulse Elite or Pulse exploring earplugs – as well as up to two flexstrike controllers for local games.

Like many of the best combine, Flexstrike can also be adapted to some degree. A truly cool feature shown in the trailer (above) is a ‘toolless’ port exchange. By opening the non -slip grip at the bottom, players will be able to switch between square, circular and octagonal gates on the go with the joystick. This means you don’t have to buy a separate joystick or port, or use additional tools to get the job done.
The controller has several facilities you find on other top match stitches, including a PINDE INTOSEWAP for Menu Navigation, and a lock contact that disables certain buttons (such as breaks) for tournament games. The eight facial buttons are also mechanical, which means they have to detect clicks, immediate input.
Finally, players use a double -sense wireless controller in tandem with flexstrike for menu navigation, not contrary to what we see with PlayStation Access Controller.
PlayStation seems to invest quite strongly in combat hardware and software. It is likely that flexstrike launches around the same time as Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Published by PlayStation Studios and developed by ARC System Works; The team behind Guilty gear strives, Granblue Fantasy Versus: RisingAt And many more of the best match games.
Techradar Gaming will be very eager to put off a judgment on flexstrike when it is launched next year, so keep an eye on a potential review in 2026.
