Imran is stored under ‘bad conditions’: son

Kasim Khan, son of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has said his father was under “really bad conditions” in Adiala prison in Rawalpindi, and that he and his brother, Sulaiman Khan, were looking for a possible way out.

In an interview about the US media output, which Real America’s voice shared on Wednesday, Khan said his father was imprisoned in a lonely containment cell and left only two hours a day in daylight. He also said they were unable to talk to their father.

Imran has been jailed since August 2023. Currently, he is sunking a sentence in the Adiala prison in a corruption case of 190 million pounds. In addition, he faces in pending trials under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) related to the protests on May 9, 2023.

“Right now he’s in truly, really bad conditions and it seems that they get worse and worse after the moment. So we’re looking for every opportunity,” Kasim said. He “is imprisoned in a lonely inclusion cell,” he added. “The cell he is in is terrible, honest.”

He continued and claimed that Imran was showering in muddy water and 10 people who were imprisoned there had died of dirty conditions. “There were moments … he went 10 days without light in his cell”. He called it a “torture tactic”.

“We are not able to talk to him at all,” he said, expressing his concern about not being able to see his father. Kasim Khan said he and his brother “looked to America at the moment” for support. “It seems that it might be the only route out at the moment.”

He said during a meeting in the United States, US President Donald Trump’s Key Help Richard Grenell “Very kind to spend some time with us.” He added, “We talked in the long run and I don’t want to get into details, but I’m very, very hopeful of it.”
