PAC -Panel finds RS185B PQA -uregeli-

Islamabad:

A Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Under Committee has revealed greater irregularities in Port Qasim Authority’s (PQA) financial affairs, including unauthorized use of RS185 billion over two financial years.

At a meeting with the chairman of Convener Moin Amir Pirzada, audit officials revealed that PQA used the huge amount during the financial years 2019-20 and 2020-21 without securing the required approval of the federal government in clear violation of the rules.

The maritime affairs are attributed to the lapse of the authority’s previous practice of preparing its own annual budget, which used to be cleared by the board.

However, the President emphasized that irregularities had nevertheless taken place and corrected a full revision of the case.
