President Donald Trump on Thursday signed an executive order that restored the president’s advice for sports, fitness and nutrition and the president’s fitness test.
Trump, surrounded by Vice President JD Vance, Heath and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Education Secretary Linda McMahon, Liv Golf Star Bryson DeChambeau, Kansas City Chiefs Kicker Harrison Butker, New York Giants Legend Lawrence Taylor, LPGA Tour Legend Annika Sorenstam And WWE Chief Content Officer Officer Officer emphasized the need to bring a focus on physical fitness and nutrition back in sports.

With the signing of the executive order, Trump planned to tackle the “widespread epidemic of declining health and physical fitness with a time-tested approach that celebrated the unusual in America’s sports and fitness traditions.”
The executive order will order the council to set up “school -based programs that reward expertise in physical training and develop criteria for a Presidential Prize.”
“It’s a wonderful tradition and we bring it back,” Trump said.
Dechambeau is chairman of the council. Trump mentioned San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa, Philadelphia Eagles, who runs back Saquon Barkley and Miami Dolphins Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will also be in the Council
“We have an opportunity to be the 70th anniversary of the President’s Council for Sport, Fitness & Nutrition, to literally change the drug in children’s lives,” Defchambeau said. “Our first initiative is to bring back and reign the president’s fitness testing and also restore some key direction lines for the construction of society.”
President Dwight D. Eisenhower set up the President’s Council on Youth Fitness in 1956, and President Lyndon B. Johnson set up the president’s physical fitness award in 1966.

When the program was first created, children had to run and perform situps, pullups or pushups and a sit-and-rachet test.
President Barack Obama withdrew the presidential fitness test, and the council created the president’s youth fitness program during his presidency.
“We need to reintroduce the spirit of competition and the spirit and obligation to nutrition and physical fitness,” Kennedy said.
Trump has been an important figure in the sports world since his presidential campaign for his second period started. He was seen at several college -football and NFL games as well as UFC events.

He has also recently put pressure on the Washington commanders and Cleveland Guardians to return to their former team comb names, Redskins and the Indians.
