Sophie Cunningham put critics of second-year Indiana fever Caitlin Clark on warning.

Cunningham rejected the show Clark is not the “face” wnba. “

It literally p — s me when people are like, ‘she’s not the face of the league,’ “Cunningham said of his Indiana teammate during the first episode of” Show Me Something “Podcast.

“We have a lot of badasses in our league, and hell yes, I’m all for it, but when people try to argue that she’s not the face of our league, or that our league would be where we are without her, you are mute like s —. You are literally mute as f —.”

Cunningham remembered her 2024 season with Phoenix Mercury in his argument that Clark’s star power led to harsher treatment on the field from competitors during her rookie season.

“I know the conversations Phoenix had in their dressing room, just like ‘we want to show her what W really is,'” Cunningham said. “I get it to some extent. Every rookie coming into the league, that’s how you have to treat them. But there’s just more for her. It’s her second year. Now it’s on her team and seeing what I’m like ‘what are people doing?’ It’s just too much.

This is not the first time Cunningham comes to Clark’s defense. Earlier this season she intervened during a change on the field between Clark and Sun Players Jacy Sheldon and Marina Mabrey.

Clark has generally rejected ideas that other WNBA players zero on her despite screaming from some fans about the perceived lack of calls from the judges in favor of the fever watch. Last season, she suggested that she face an unusual physical level from opponents.

“I think everyone is physical with me. They get rid of things that other people probably won’t get rid of,” Clark said in 2024, according to Associated Press. “It’s tough, but it’s just the fact.

Clark added that the physical style of play is part of the competition.

“This is a very physical game and you get pressure. This is professional basketball. That’s what it is, honestly,” she said.

Earlier this month, Clark’s colleagues voted WNBA players on her league’s ninth best guard. Clark has played in only 13 games this season due to several injuries. She average 16.5 points per Competition, a few points below her average in 2025.
