World Darts Federation ruled earlier this week that female competitions do not allow biological men who are transient women.

A Trans Dart Thrower spoke against the decision in a long -lasting Instagram post and called it a “Loss for the Trans Community in Sport.”

“This last Monday, WDF (World Darts Federation) released a new policy on gender eligibility. I will take a moment to respond. However, this decision personally does not affect me too serious at this time. But still it hurts,” Noa-Lynn van Leuven wrote.

“Once again, it’s a loss to the transfer community in sports. And it breaks my heart. Like a transperson in the Darts world, I know how important inclusion is – not only on paper but in practice.”

Van Leuven added that “justice” comes at the expense of “exclusion”.

“It’s condescending to see yet another policy framed around ‘justice’ that ultimately results in exclusion, without really considering the people behind the labels. My heart goes out to all the athletes affected by this. We remain visible. We continue,” wrote van Leuven.

Two of Van Leuver’s former Dutch teammates retired on Van Leuven, who joined the PDC. Last year, the British female dart player Deta Hedman refused to play van Leuven in a WDF event.

PDC -Exec Matt Porter said in November that he thought the organization’s policy for trans -throwers is “fair” and had no plans to change the rules despite the British Supreme Court’s decision to define the terms “man”, “woman” and “sex.”
