The US Ministry of Education announced on Friday that it came to an agreement with Wagner College on the issue of biologically male trans athletes in women’s sports. The deal quotes a viral incident where female fences Stephanie Turner kneeled to protest on a transheger competing for Wagner at a US fence event.
Wagner has agreed to apologize to all his female athletes who competed against Trans athleteRedmond Sullivan, pr. Doe message. The school will also adopt a new biological definition for male and female in its sports programs according to the announcement.

Recordings of Turner kneeling against Sullivan at Cherry Blossom Open in Maryland became viral in early April. Turner got a black card, the harshest punishment in the sport, for her rejection of fence Sullivan, disqualified from the event and gave a 12-month probationary time.
Sullivan did not represent Wagner at the event.
Wagner later told Pakinomist Digital that Sullivan was no longer on the fence team. NCAA had changed its gender eligibility policy to comply with President Donald Trump’s executive order on the issue in early February.

But now Wagner meets himself directly with Trump’s administration to tackle the incident.
The agreement comes only weeks after the University of Pennsylvania came to a similar agreement on 2022 Lia Thomas Controvers.
“On the heels of our agreement with the University of Pennsylvania, Trump administration secured another historical title IX agreement with Wagner College. After Stephanie Turner, a female athlete, bravely took a knee and lost a fence match against a man competing in a female category, has our office for civilian right female fence team and will revise his policies to comply with section IX,” said. ” Education Secretary Linda McMahon.
“Due to President Trump’s leadership, the tide turns on our country’s campuses. We praise Wagner College for working with the department to repair its damage to female athletes and ensure that future generations of women and girls have equal opportunities.”
Department of Education provided a list of conditions:
- Wagner will change his athletic policy to adopt biology -based definitions of the words “male” and “female” according to section IX;
- Wagner will make a public statement to the College Society that it will comply with title IX, specifies that title IX forbids Wagner to allow male students to compete in female athletic programs and from occupying female intimate facilities;
- The statement will specify that title IX uses, regardless of any current or future policies that may conflict with the statement and that Wagner will not delegate his obligation to comply with title IX to an external association that discriminates on the basis of sex;
- Wagner sends the statement in a prominent place on its main website and on each of his sites for Women’s Athletics;
- Wagner resigns any guidance that authorized men to compete in women’s athletics, remove or revise any internal and public -related statements or documents incompatible with title IX, and notify all staff and women’s athletics teams of all such repeal; and
- Wagner issues a personal apology letter to any Wagner College female fence and issues a public apology of apology to all female athletes who were obliged to compete against a man in a Wagner athletics program appointed for women.
- According to the agreement, Wagner has reviewed whether any male students athlete competing in women’s athletics for Wagner College, received all individual athletic items or recognition of Wagner on athletic competitions and decided that no such recognition was received.
