At least 299 people, including 140 children, have lost their lives, and 715 others – among those 239 children – have been injured in flash floods and stormy rain that has swept through vulnerable areas in the country since June 26, according to the latest figures issued by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), reported PTV.
A total of 299 people were killed, including 140 children, 102 men and 57 women, according to the data. Among the 715 wounded were 239 children, 204 were women and 272 were men who were caused by injuries.
Since June 26, flash floods and stormy rain have caused widespread destruction and a total of 1,676 houses in the affected areas.
Of these, 562 homes were destroyed, while 1,114 sustained partial damage. The serious weather also led to the loss of 428 livestock, which composed the impact on the local communities.
National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has carried out 223 comprehensive rescue operations and successfully evacuated 2,880 individuals from flood regions.

To support affected societies, the authority has distributed 13,466 emergency relief articles in vulnerable areas. These include 1,999 tents, 61 ration bags, 958 blankets, 569 duvets, 613 mattresses, 1,282 kitchen sets, 1,163 lunches, 350 rescue jackets, 1,122 hygiene home kits, 2,170 tarpaulins and 146 de-water pumps with other important supplies.
Authorities have established 71 medical camps and are treating 577 people so far.
According to NDMA, the crisis has affected several regions and joint relief operations continue in collaboration with provincial and federal agencies.
Separately, all magazines for rescue 1122 staff in Rawalpindi have been canceled as part of the emergency preparations for the expected monsoon rod from August 5th. Pre -interior decoration in key spaces throughout the district has also been completed.
Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has warned that the sixth magic form for monsoon rains is expected to begin on August 5, which raises concerns about potential floods throughout the province.

In a fact sheet issued on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, PDMA was confirmed precipitation registered in several districts over the last 24 hours, including Rawalpindi, Bahawalnagar, Murree, Chakwal, Sahiwal, Narowal, Okara, Attock and Lahore. Additional rain is expected in most districts in the next 24 hours.
Emergency equipment, including ambulances, fire trucks, hiking teams and boats, are placed in a fully operational state.
