- A limited edition 8Bitdo -Controller celebrating Rare’s 40 -year anniversary has been viewed on Amazon
- The Blue/Yellow GamePad contains emblems from the developer’s most iconic titles
- It is revealed shortly after the cancellation of Everwildwhich would have been the next big game of the study
It has definitely been a tried and testing year too rarely, but at least there is something to shout about for fans of the legendary Twycross-based developer in the form of an 8bitdo controller with limited edition.
This 8Bitdo Ultimate Controller for Xbox Consoles and PC has been viewed on Amazon (via Eurogamer) and is intended to celebrate the company’s 40 -year anniversary. No release date has yet been revealed and it seems that it will only be available to US audience at this time.
It is definitely one of the best limited editions 8Bitdo controllers to date with a blue and yellow color scheme reminiscent of the developer’s logo. It is also emblazoned with iconography from some of its most famous titles including Sea of Thiever and Banjo-Kazooie. There is even a banana there like a naughty nikk to Donkey Kong Country Series as well as Donkey Kong 64.
If you are not familiar with the 8Bitdo controller, it is a bit of a revelation in the third-party GamePad space. It has Hall Effect Thumbsticks made to combat operation, two transformable buttons for secondary input and a 2.4 GHz dongle for wireless connection.
8Bitdo Ultimate also includes a charging dock in the box for a smart and easy way to keep the pillow topped. I consider it one of the best Xbox controllers and best Nintendo Switch controllers on the market today.
However, I can’t help but feel bittersweet over the unveiling of this controller. While Sea of Thiever Is a huge game and continues to enjoy a dedicated player base, Rare’s 40. Year has not exactly been smooth sailing.
Developer’s next game, Everwild, was recently canceled. This is despite the comments of Xbox Chief Phil Spencer back in February this year, claiming that the game’s development was progress. Rarely created Perfectly dark Series, an immersive Sim-Esque restart, of which was also closed along with its developer initiative in the middle of another round of Xbox Game Studios discharges.
