CJ Afridi emphasizes bench-bar Unity

Islamabad:

Chief Justice Yahya Afridi on Tuesday confirmed the bench and bar as essential columns in the justice system and emphasized that their common goal of providing justice requires close cooperation.

The supreme judge made these comments when he met with a delegation of Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) in the Supreme Court’s branch register, Karachi. He was accompanied by Sindh High Court Chief Justice Junaid Ghaffar.

According to a statement released on Tuesday, Chief Justice welcomed the delegation and confirmed that the bench and bar are integrated components of a legal system.

He emphasized that the shared mission of providing justice cannot be achieved without the close cooperation between the legal fraternity and assured that he would not allow any factor to disturb this important meaningful partnership.

Briefing the delegation outlined the top judge the ongoing reform agenda implemented through the law and the Justice Commission of Pakistan (LJCP). He assessed them about the measures taken for the welfare of the legal fraternity, including their admission to decision -making and policy development for the justice sector.
