Have you noticed that your Fitbit is registering that you are awake more at night, with your graph now showing more awake events than it did in the past? It turns out that this is not a bug that dwells from the recent main break -up; It is an intentional side effect of a recent update.
It is, according to a note that Fitbit shared with his community that explained that “your sleep tracking just became more accurate.” To note that this is just the first in a “series of upcoming improvements” for sleep tracking.
Specifically, this first update involves some adjustments to how your Fitbit tracks your sleep to make it more accurate. This may be the reason why your waking time and number of waking events have risen when you briefly wake up all night (even if you don’t realize it), but the old system doesn’t properly track all these cases.
The result is that your Fitbit should more accurately track your night’s rest to give you a better measure of your body’s recovery.
The only unclear thing is what fitbits will support this new sleep tracking, but we expect it to at least include Fitbit Charge 6, Inspire 3, Sense 2 and Versa 4 – as these are the four models Google still sells.
Some older models may also be included, but Fitbit has not clarified which ones.
But if more improvements are planned, these can be detailed on the upcoming Google event, which will happen on August 20 at. 10 PT / 13:00 ET / 18:00 BST / 3AM AEST.
While Google promises that the event will focus on “the latest additions to our pixel portfolio of devices” Fitbit may be included in it, even if it is just like part of a wider pixelurdic discussion.
Whatever happens, you can be sure we are ready to cover it.
