Recovered MNAs that have not yet received pending wages

Islamabad:

Eighteen Members of the National Assembly (MNAs), recently reintroduced to reserved seats, are now waiting for the release of their salaries that have accumulated during their year -long suspension.

The National Assembly Secretariat faces uncertainty as to whether the reinstated legislators have the right to receive wages for the period they were agreed.

The Secretariat has sought advice from the Finance Department on the case, and a final decision is expected during the ongoing NA session after approval from the speaker.

From January 2025, the monthly salary is for an MNA of RS730,000. If the pending payments are approved, each of the 18 MNAs is expected to receive around RS7.1 million in arrears.

The total payment required for all 18 lawmakers amounts to approx. RS127.8 million. It is worth noting that these members were agreed on May 13, 2024 after a Supreme Court Recruitment.

However, the Apex Court turned its decision on July 2, 2025 and reintroduced all 18 lawmakers. Among these restored are 15 women and three minority representatives.
