Just weeks after Google launched the Gemini Cli, its open source AI agent to integrate Gemini into a user’s terminal, the company has partnered with Microsoft-owned Github to launch the Gemini Cli Github actions.
The company described the Gemini Cli Github actions as a free, beta-stage AI teammate who lives within a GitHub repo that is capable of acting as an autonomous agent and an on-demand partner.
Gemini Cli Github actions can automatically label, prioritize and filter new problems, provide immediate feedback on quality, style and correctness and collaboration on-demand with @Gemini-CLI command to write tests, implement corrections, brainstorm and more.

When he talked about how the tool was built, senior software engineer Jerop Kipruto and Senior Director Ryan J. Salva explained: “When members of the community noticed our new workflows, they asked us to share what we have built.”
“Triggered by events such as new problems or pull requests, it works asynchronous in the background using the full context of your project to automatically handle tasks,” the software workers explained in a blog post.
Google also noticed its commitment to security in corporate quality and noted that Vertex AI and Gemini Code Assist Standard/Enterprise users can use Google Cloud’s WorkLoad Identity Federation (WIF) to eliminate the need for prolonged API keys, tightening the security of reducing the risk of compromise.
The Github Actions version of the Gemini Cli is available to try in beta today -Gemini code helps free level users get 60 requests per Minute and 1000 requests per minute. Day, but other account types have different quotas.
