Islamabad:
The Supreme Court will take up today ten appeals in connection with election disputes.
A bench with three members led by Justice Aminuddin Khan will hear these appeals, starting at 1 p.m. 9:30 pm. The bench also includes Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb.
The planned cases include Aqeel Aslam’s petition for alleged rigging in PP-182. There are separate petitions from Muhammad Rafiq and Ali Imran on demarcation.
Ghazanfar Rasool and Major (Retd) Faisal Aziz have filed separate petitions that challenge the rejection of their nomination papers and Sarbuland Khan and Saleh Bhutani, have submitted separate petitions seeking tale of votes.
There is a petition from Malik Ashraf Khan who challenges the election results according to Form 47. There is also a petition from Muhammad Shehbaz about dual nationality and its influence on his candidacy.
